Khandala, for a relaxing weekend gateway

Khandala, situated in between two of the busiest cities of Maharashtra i.e. Mumbai and Pune, this place is an ideal location for all those people trying to get away for the weekend. This place is located in the Sahyadri hills of the western part of Maharashtra and is very close to Lonavala (6kms). Bedsa caves: This is one of the oldest caves that is present in Maharashtra. This history of this cave dates back to 60B.C. and is situated on the top of a sloppy hill. This place is famous for its beautiful carvings along its 25 feet high pillars.

Inside the cave, there is another cave which is considered to be the main cave and is known as Chaitya. This cave also has a prayer hall that treasures a splendid stupa. One can take an Innova taxi in Mumbai and visit this place with family over the weekend.

Duke's Nose: This place is not just famous because of its quirky name but is also known as the best place is Khandala for sight-seeing. One can see the surrounding mountains, forests and the valleys from this point.

It is a famous spot among the tourists for rock climbing and is considered an ideal place for picnics.

Kune Waterfalls: This is the 14th highest waterfall that is present in the country. It is a three-tiered waterfall which has the height of 200m and is one of the most popular sites for families and groups to go for picnics and get together.

Tiger's Leap: It is one of the most famous tourist spots and one can enjoy a wonderful view of the valley from over 650m above. There is also an echo point which draws major attraction and is one of the fascinating places for all those who go to visit this place.
